About the Role
The Smart Plant 3D Administrator will play a crucial role in setting up, customizing, and maintaining the Smart 3D project environment, ensuring that all engineering disciplines operate efficiently within the system. The selected candidate will be responsible for project database management, drawing configuration, reference data administration, and troubleshooting issues in coordination with clients, vendors, and Hexagon support teams.
This position requires hands-on expertise in Smart 3D administration, along with strong coordination skills to support multidisciplinary engineering teams and ensure project deliverables meet client standards.
Key Responsibilities
As a Smart Plant 3D Administrator, your responsibilities will include:
Smart 3D Administration & Setup
- Manage Smart 3D setup and administration activities across the project lifecycle.
- Create, manage, and maintain the S3D project database and plant structure.
- Perform catalog placement and consistency testing to ensure model integrity.
- Schedule and validate all S3D database backups for uninterrupted project continuity.
Customization & Reference Data Management
- Customize Smart 3D reports based on project and client requirements.
- Develop and maintain:
- Equipment & Piping Reference Data
- Plant Structure Reference Data
- Electrical Reference Data
- Prepare ISO, View Style, and GA Drawing Templates for all engineering disciplines.
Drawing Configuration & Troubleshooting
- Configure and maintain orthographic drawing setups aligned with client standards.
- Create and maintain isometric drawing configurations and troubleshoot isometric issues.
- Manage Smart 3D drawing configurations and improve drawing generation workflows.
- Create, track, and close support tickets with Hexagon for Smart 3D related issues.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and discipline engineers to resolve Smart 3D related issues.
- Ensure the project setup aligns with engineering requirements and project execution strategies.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should possess:
- 15+ years of experience in SmartPlant 3D Administration
- Strong expertise in S3D customization, setup, and database management
- Experience in isometric and orthographic drawing configuration
- Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in Hexagon Smart 3D
