🚀 Position: Mechanical Piping Designer
This role is ideal for professionals with extensive experience in piping design, plant layout, industrial drafting, and 3D modeling who are eager to work on complex engineering projects in a highly collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will contribute throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual engineering and detailed design to implementation and project close-out.
🏗 Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Piping Designer, you will play an essential role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
Design & Drafting
- Prepare engineering drawings and electronic documentation using AutoCAD.
- Develop three-dimensional models and construction documents.
- Produce piping layouts and plant design deliverables.
Engineering Coordination
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Support projects from conceptual design through detailed engineering and implementation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Model Development & Reviews
- Create and maintain 3D piping models.
- Conduct model reviews and clash detection activities.
- Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and electrical teams to resolve design conflicts.
Field Support
- Participate in site visits and inspections.
- Support construction teams and verify alignment with design intent.
- Implement field modifications and update drawings, models, and bills of materials (BOMs).
Design Revisions
- Modify existing drawings and models based on engineering markups, written instructions, and field requirements.
- Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
🎯 Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate should possess:
Education
- College diploma or equivalent practical experience in mechanical design, drafting, or a related discipline.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in:
- Piping Design
- Mechanical Design
- Plant Layout Engineering
- Industrial Drafting
Additional Experience Preferred
- Industrial facilities and infrastructure projects
- Site layouts and construction drawing preparation
- Nuclear facility design and drafting (considered an asset)
- Field inspection and construction support activities
Candidates with practical experience supporting engineering projects from design through construction will be highly valued.
