It involves the use of a high-temperature flame generated by the combustion of oxygen and fuel gas, typically acetylene or propane. The process relies on the exothermic reaction between oxygen and the fuel gas, which produces a focused flame with temperatures reaching around 3,500 degrees Celsius (6,332 degrees Fahrenheit).
